The 2006 meetings of the Public Choice Society will be held at the Hotel InterContinental in New Orleans, Louisiana, commencing with registration Thursday afternoon, March 30, and ending at noon on Sunday, April 2. As most of you know, New Orleans was delivered a one-two punch by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in September,
and it was some time before we were able to determine if we would be able to return in 2006. In keeping with the
outstanding service we received from the InterContinental during our conference this past spring, we were in close
contact with the hotel and kept informed of the situation. Other options were explored in exhaustive detail. We are
happy to report that the hotel reopened with a gala celebration on October 17 to a full complement of services
including guest relations, concierge, housekeeping, restaurant, and bar services. The following is a quote from their
press release, |

With that spirit of rebirth and determination of will in mind, the 2006 Public Choice Society meetings should be a great success. ***** Because of the unexpected delay in the Call for Papers due to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and subsequent questions regarding the viability of New Orleans as our meeting site, there will be a shorter period of time to submit abstracts, but the time for submission of completed papers will remain the same.

***** There are several important changes to the information contained in the Call for Papers. A list of categories covered follows. Detailed information, instructions, and forms can be found on the expanded guidance page ».
