The Public Choice Society is loosely affiliated with the journal Public
Choice, published by Kluwer Academic Publishers.
This journal (originally called Papers in Non-Market Decision-Making) is internationally
recognized as an authoritative source for original scholarly work and book reviews written from
the unique public choice perspective.
There follows a note from the Editors, December 2005.
Dear Friends:
We are pleased to announce that Public Choice is responding to the requests of our increasingly electronically savvy customers, and to the demands of the modern marketplace. Effective immediately, Public Choice has revised its manuscript submission and evaluation process. That is, the journal's manuscript handling operations are now fully, and only, electronic. The new "Editorial Manager" system will significantly reduce the time required
for the editors to solicit, receive, and evaluate reports from referees, and to inform authors of the results.
As you may have seen from the web site, this change-over was effective October 31. No additional paper or hard-copy submissions can be accepted.
All referee reports, editors' reports, and final decisions will also be transmitted in electronic format only. The new system allows authors to check the status of their papers in real time, and to submit requests for further information. This improvement in transparency and timeliness will significantly improve journal operations.
Springer and the editorial team, led by William Shughart, have invested considerable effort in designing a new system specifically tailored to the needs and folkways of Public Choice. You can view the new system for manuscript submission and review at http://puch.edmgr.com/ .
If you have questions or comments, please let us know. We look forward to working with you in the months and years to come, as we try to maintain Public Choice's reputation as one of the most innovative and advanced journals in the social sciences.
